• PLA (Polylactide)
Polylactide or PLA (also known as polylactic acid or lactic acid polymer) is a versatile commercial biodegradable thermoplastic. It is based on lactic acid. PLA is a high-strength and high-modulus thermoplastic with a good appearance. It has high stiffness and strength, comparable to polystyrene (PS) at room temperature.
• PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol)
PETG is a thermoplastic polyester that delivers significant chemical resistance, durability, and moldability for manufacturing. PETG is an adaptation of PET where the ‘G’ stands for glycol such as CHDM or NPG, which is added at a molecular level to offer different chemical and optical properties.
• ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)
ABS is an opaque thermoplastic. It is an amorphous polymer comprised of three monomers, acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene. The acrylonitrile in ABS provides chemical and thermal stability, while the butadiene adds toughness and strength. The styrene gives the finished polymer a nice, glossy finish.
• FLEX (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)
FLEX is an elastomeric copolymer, made up of alternating soft and hard blocks, which give hardness and flexibility at the same time. FLEX is a thermoplastic elastomer, able to be extended up to 4.5 times its original size before breaking.
• Resin
Resin refers to a versatile category of semi-solid compounds, both natural and synthetic, that can harden into a highly durable plastic material. These compounds are typically a blend of organic substances held together by chemical bonds.
